just call me wyatt. little nicknames are okay, too, but wyatt is the simplest way to recognize me. i'm going to tell you right now, i may be seventeen, but i'm a huge kid. i'm pretty much a big dork, and i'm incredibly proud of it. just because i act a bit immature, doesn't mean that i'm inconsiderate, though. i'm a huge teddy bear. i'm incredibly considerate of everyone other than myself. everyone comes first. i'm a definite big brother figure; i'm incredibly caring, and i pretty much get along with absolutely everyone. no worries there, whatsoever. unless you want to be my enemy, you won't be. i'm friendly towards anyone who crosses my path. sure, i'm pushed around a bit because of it, but even if i dislike how i'm treated, i'm not going to act any differently.
you may notice that i have a bit of an english accent. that's because i'm originally from surrey, england. the whole thing was just a big bloody mess - literally. my poor mother, and my poor father. i love the two to death, i do. but when my mother had a miscarriage, the two blamed one another for the death of their baby, and then it was just tragedy after that. the two fell apart, and it just got worse and worse and worse, until i couldn't stand to be in the room with either of them. the relationship they have now disgusts me, really, but i can't do much about it. the weird thing is; they never really got a divorce. my mum just moved away, and i went with her. the family is huge now. three siblings, and aunts and uncles that are always around. my father's brothers even come around and visit us.
when i was younger, though, it used to just be angry all of the time. it was a matter of years before we moved to the states, so he always managed to come around. when he did, there was arguments, and screaming and throwing and blood and such, and somehow i was always caught in the middle of it. mum became a bit of an alcoholic, and i had to take on the responsibilities of a parent for my younger sisters. i somehow was always yelled at when my father came around, however. i got a chair in the face, or a belt to the buns. it didn't make me look down on either of them, though it should have. i was young, but i knew they were going through a tough time. well, twelve. maybe not that young. but i hardly fussed and complained like i should have.
things settled down quite a bit after we relocated. they made peace, i suppose, because he stopped calling for a few months, and it was just.. silent. there was no drama, nothing. we resumed our childhood - a childhood without a father figure - and we kept ourselves together. there weren't any drunken arguments anymore, and there weren't an scandalous boyfriends. my mum stayed faithful, and my pop stayed out of the picture. sure, we had holidays. the two acted civilized around each other, but only because they hardly interacted. in fact, i don't think the families would even converge, if it weren't for the sake of us children.
they're working on their relationship, i guess. they talk on the phone a lot; i wondered why she purchased an international calling plan. he's raising my little sister, and she's raising, well, me, and the rest of the lot. i suppose i'm past my "raising," stage. seventeen, like i said. one more year of high school, than i'm out of their hair for good. i'm trying to remain supportive of my younger sisters, and i believe mum appreciates it. she needs a break ever now and then. everyone does, right? anyways, i suppose that's why i've been shaped to be the way that i am; a teddy bear. i've never really stood up for myself, and i suppose that's my weakness. but, it hasn't steered me wrong yet.
SO SAY THAT YOU JUST WANT TO RUN AWAY.
