The boys grip on the steering wheel became tighter around the leather as his palms started to become sweaty. He was a lot more confident online than he was in real life and away from the computer. He hadn't left his driveway yet and he was a step away from turning on the engine. The lump in his throat growing bigger as he swallowed it down. Turning his head around to look out the back window as he turned on the engine, and backed out of the driveway, switching the clutch to reverse as he stepped on the gas pedal. That anxious feeling washing over him again as he drove down the street, or maybe it was the butterflies in his stomach, whatever it was he had only a couple miles to get his act together. If not make it look like it anyways. It was hard to act around a girl that despised the two of them being arranged to marry.
Still no matter how the girl herself acted towards him, Angel showed her nothing, but respect and kindness. He was a gentleman in every aspect and did everything to show it even if she was blinded by, well whatever it was. Angel stopped to think about it every once in a while, though it wasn't as if he thought about it everyday or it wasn't almost always on his mind. It wasn't as if the girl he was to be wedded to was basically pretty much always on his conscience or the small things she did. No, never just every once in a while. His bottom lip instinctively tucked under his teeth, while he chewed on it nervously as he played with his septum ring, looking out his passenger side window like a creep. The cars engine still running as the car sat outside Indigo's house.
Eventually he was going to go knock on the door, you know when he could feel his legs again. If Indigo hadn't noticed him yet, she would sooner or later. Then what would she think of Angel if she saw his car just sitting out there. He kept the engine running while he got out of the car and jogged at a slow pace up her sidewalk that led to her doorstep. One hand in his back pocket, his free hand morphing into a fist as it met the cold wooden door. He stood there awkwardly for a few moments then knocked again. "Hey Indigo, it's Angel" His accent heavy. He backed away from the door and waited for it to open. His heart beating out of his chest.

ten to twelve i'm not myself,BY THE MILLIONTH TIME I CRYIndigo didn't know why she was doing this, or if she even wanted to. She was not ready to be married, nor did she want to be. She was single right now, and wouldn't consider herself anything more. She wasn't engaged, nor did she want to be. This marriage had come out of nowhere and it made no sense to her why she had to go through with it. Never before had she hated her culture as much as she did at this point and time in her life. It was ridiculous the old school customs that people still went by now these days. She wasn't an old school spaniard, and she didn't agree with what she was being made to do this time around. Anything else she could handle; taking her shoes off before entering the house, sharing memories and stories at the dinner table before they ate, but.. arranged marriage?
She had gotten ready pretty quickly, her hair still semi-damp from the shower she had recently taken, wringing the water out with her hands before drying it some. She never had to put too much effort into the way she looked, she had never been to peculiar over it, her hair did what it wanted to after it was styled and brushed, and most of the time it was well-behaved, so she was pleased. Next came the clothes. Indy always dressed accordingly, however she had no earthly idea where in the hell he was taking her. She probably should have asked him while she had the chance, but it was a little late now. Instead she put on an undershirt, and a large shirt that hung off her over the undershirt, the sleeves being cut out to see the undershirt all the way through the big holes in the sides. It was one of her favorite looks, and because she was so tiny she could pull it off.
Slipping on a pair of legging the girl stroked her hair with the brush a few times and prettied up her face with a bit of make-up, but not too much. She wouldn't want to give him the wrong idea after all. This was nothing but giving in, not to love, and surely not to the marriage, but she could at least be civil.. right? She thought so. And as she heard the knock at the door the girl groaned internally as she made her way to it, peeking out a little and smirking as she made him wait a bit longer then necessary. go away, angel. she said, her accent forming her words to pronounce his name completely opposite of how it was supposed to sound. She couldn't help it, she had never been able to get rid of it, but honestly, she loved the fact that she could speak spanish and she loved that fact that her accent was what made her who she was. It was a part of her.

Angel was very proud of his Spanish heritage. He came from a very religious family, especially from his mothers side of the family, actually his mothers side was the only strict religious family he had. The rest of his family was Italian and loud. Coming from a rather large family he with many different cultures, he wasn't too bothered by the fact he was arranged to be married to a girl he hardly knew. His grandma and mother did the same thing with his older sister, and would probably do it with his younger brother. His sister seem to be happy from what Angel could tell. He had faith things would go the same way for him. Except things weren't going as smooth as Angel hopped. Still the optimistic boy had a habit of getting his hopes high and he wasn't giving up soon. Whether or not she had any feelings towards him, that were positive. He was falling hard for her.
The frantic male had gotten ready in a rush. He couldn't make up his mind, couldn't find anything to wear and nothing looked good enough on him. His hair was a mess of curls that laid flat around his face. He didn't even have to do anything with it. It was just naturally curly unless he decided to style it. His jeans were washed down, cut at the knee, and fit nice around his frame. He wore something like it on a regular day basis. It matched his plain white v-neck and vans which were stained, and dirty, but still his favorite pair of shoes. And he might have looked like a hot mess. It got him thinking about what Indigo must have been wearing. Though it wouldn't have mattered cause whatever she was dressed in. It would be enough to knock the breath out of Angel. He was a peasant compared to her, and he got every chance he could to tell her she was beautiful.
He stood there even though he looked like an idiot. If this was a game, Angel was obviously losing, but he wasn't giving up. He felt like a pawn with the way she made him wait outside her door. She couldn't still be getting ready could she? That was a stereotype about women right? The sound of Indigo's accent carrying beyond the door brought a smile to the males lips. Her accent thick as his. "Hey bonita, data prisa" He spoke in his native language, English being his second language. Proud his mother raised him. Least Indigo and him shared something in common.

ten to twelve i'm not myself,BY THE MILLIONTH TIME I CRYIndigo smirked softly as she heard the spanish accent outside of her door. Maybe she was being a bit rude, well, she was definitely being rude, the bad part was that it was on purpose. Sometimes she couldn't help it, and her bipolar disorder caused it, but other times it was to make sure she couldn't fall in love. Not saying that she would... it was just less of a possibility of she kept her guard up around him. Her intention was to find some way out of this, to not marry him; because honestly, when she thought about it, did he really want to be forced to marry someone like her? Someone who was never nice to him and had a constant attitude and dislike for this marriage in the first place. No, of course not, not if he was in his right mind.
Indigo had never really said a kind word to the poor boy, it had been her goal from the very beginning to make him hate her, to be repulsed by the way she treated him. It hadn't worked. He had been nothing but nice to her from the very beginning and Indy couldn't stand it. She didn't want to be tied down and she certainly couldn't stand the thought of the person not being her choice in the first place. Her options were taken away from her from the minute her parents had signed the document, sentencing her into a lifetime of the unknown. It was basically forced upon her by her family and there was nothing she could do about it. She had been auctioned off to a complete stranger to marry him and make him happy. that was where the fun began. Her intentions were to scare the poor boy away. Maybe if they both didn't want to go through with it (rather then just her) it would make a difference. She sure as hell hoped so.
But at this very moment, none of that mattered, and none of that was going to help her situation. She had a date to get to, and no matter how she felt about it, she had agreed to go. She could at least be nice for about an hour or two.. couldn't she? hmm.. she'd have to think about that one. Rolling her eyes softly the girl replied, no me apuro, chico she said quickly before opening the door to face him, smirking softly and looking over him quickly, noting to herself that he was by no means unattractive. She bit her lip softly and looked around him, anywhere else but his face, she didn't want to face the boy she was being forced to marry. Not to find that he was extremely attractive to her, no.. she'd rather not be perplexed like that. ready? she said, chancing a glance at him.

He was always going to look for the better in people, and he was always going look on the bright side even if that meant people were going to walk all over him. He wasn't blind or stupid, he got the memo. He was just going to turn the situation around, least give it a chance even if Indigo wouldn't give them a chance, call him out of his mind or whatever else you could think of. But who was out of their right mind when they didn't think of themselves as beautiful. Angel could have sworn that girl didn't look in the mirror enough. His second job besides doing his best to warm up to Indigo was to convince the girl she was not only beautiful, but gorgeous or was Angel the only one who saw it? He could see that the main reason was because of the marriage and not specifically him. Out of the two of them, he was the only one who didn't really see no harm in it, maybe he really was crazy. He felt guilty all at the same time, knowing he was half the reason why her freedom was being restricted. That she would be a lot more happy if they were to never be arranged to marry. All he wanted to do now was make her happy even if it felt like it was all in vain at times, he still had hope. Though the young male knew not to get his hopes up to high.
The poor boy was going to get his heart broken if it wasn't for being the overly nice and accepting guy he was. Angel was aware that everyone had their own problems he was probably the cause of half of Indigo's. Though Angel wasn't giving up, he was a determined little bastard. He knew Indigo wasn't all heartless and wasn't always a bitch that deep down there was much more to the girl and Angel saw that. He had given up a lot of things in life, but he was easy going and never truly held grudges long enough for anything to really effect him. His life had been controlled by his mother and things didn't get any easier with his heart condition. He was faced with countless problems a day and even though he viewed Indigo's attitude as an obstacle. It was always something he could figure out, something he could make better. He was the more optimistic of the two, he would always counter one of Indigo's negative comments with a positive one. Taking her out was just another insane idea he had in his head to get closer to the girl.
He tapped his foot constantly on the pavement as he waited. That nervous feeling washing over him while he kept his palms from sweating. It would be only a few more seconds before she opened the door and he could only contemplate what he looked like, a fool. If it was bad now, what would it be like when they got to the restraunt and they were sitting right in front of each other, and the only thing they had to do was talk, and eat? “no tome tanto tiempo las mujeres” the words came out as one heavy sigh, a smile playing on his lips. His eyes wandering over the beautiful cinareta in front of him as the door swung open. Adverting his eyes once he realized she refused to look at him directly. He backed away and led her to his small kia. Opening the passenger side door for her like the gentleman he was. “yeah we better get going, I made reservations” Closing the door afterwords. He made his way around the front of the car, he had only a few seconds to get his heart rate under control again.

ten to twelve i'm not myself,BY THE MILLIONTH TIME I CRYIndigo had always suffered from her disorder, ever since she had turned thirteen. Her parents had noticed her constant mood changes and had thought it just the teenage years to be the cause, but they soon figured out that Indy's moods changed just about every time the wind changed directions. It was obvious that her moods switched between themselves often and would leave you almost in a state of perplexion as you tried to guess how the girl was feeling. More often times then not though the girl wasn't in a good mood. She was always hateful and always rude to the people she cared most about. And maybe she did abuse her power to be rude sometimes, but it wasn't like she was a hateful person deep down. She honestly had a good heart, you just had to know her and get to know her if you wanted to find that person.
The people who knew her the best knew that they just had to deal with Indigo and possibly attempt to get her in a good mood. It seemed that once she found that good mood that she would stay that way for a while. Her good moods always lasted longer then the bad moods, it was just the fact that the bad ones came more frequently. It wasn't uncommon to see Indy smiling one minute and then to find her yelling and screaming another. She hated the disorder and she knew she was hated for it. She didn't like to tell most people and it was why everyone tried to stay away from her, they feared her flipping out on them and mostly stayed away. She didn't mind it though, honestly, it was a welcomed change, only she knew it was just an excuse. The truth was that she would love to have more people to talk to her, besides the ones that knew about her disorder and the fact that they would simply have to get used to her mood swings.
It was a part of who she was and there was honestly no changing it. As much as she had tried, nothing had worked and she knew nothing would work. Of course, there were things that she could do to help the disorder, like take medicine and stay away from stress, but lately that last requirement was beginning to be an even harder task. This whole marriage deal was stressful, no matter how many times she would like to tell herself that it wasn't she knew she couldn't deny it. Her heart was telling her to run away, as fast as she could, but she knew she couldn't. She had to obey her parents, at least in this one wish for her. She hadn't known why they had chosen angel, but it had to be a valid reason. Jersey's parents were smart people, and they planned well, seeing as she wasn't the only one to be arranged into a monstrosity such as marriage. It didn't matter though, Indy was nowhere close to warming up to this insane idea.
A loud sigh escaped her lips as he told her not to take so long and she shrugged it off. I'll take just as long as I want, and you'll wait.. just like a fine gentleman should. she said, setting her jaw indignantly. It wasn't long before he opened the passenger side door for her and she slid in his car, a small smirk playing at her lips for some unknown reason. She was in a rare mood today, but there was no telling how long that would last, she never was able to tell. Indigo turned her head to face him as he mentioned reservations. The girl's jaw almost dropped as she heard the word. Reservations? She didn't think this date was that special, but apparently to him it was... Biting her lip the girl sighed and nodded, her fight seemed to fade away at the realization that he had put so much work into this, a smile replacing the smirk on her lips as she simply nodded in agreement, well... okay. she said simply.

His optimistic mood made him plenty of friends. He wasn't afraid to get close to people and people weren't afraid to get close to him. His caring and accepting nature was what made it easy for him to keep the friends he held so dear to him. He incapable of saying such hurtful words or what seemed like it. It wasn't all cases that he was necessarily a nice person, he just refused to say anything mean. He always bit his tongue or turned the other cheek. It was obvious the two were complete opposites, except on that rare occasion he got the girl to smile. Those moments that seem to go on forever which he enjoyed to the full extent. He had suddenly been thrown into this girls life with no clue what his parents had gotten him into. He was going to make every moment count. And when Indigo's rapid mood changes pushed people away least Angel wasn't going anywhere. Even when she ripped on him every chance she got. He still stuck around and waited through the storm.
It was hard not to believe the girl didn't have people flock to her or boys chase after her and for all Angel knew it could be true. The thought of it not was just plain impossible to believe. If so they must either be blind or stupid then again most weren't Angel. They didn't see what he did or maybe it was just his own fascination with the girl. She only had to do the slightest things to set him on edge. She could probably have any boy she really wanted to if it was up to her. The bat of an eyelash she could make the boy melt and she didn't have a clue, she had him in the palm of her hands. He could sit there and take any rude comment she threw his way. He was just another hopeless romantic searching for something that might not even be there. Call it being stubborn or determined and anything else you could come up with. It was possibly the only thing that got him through the day and kept him going besides the fact that Indigo might eventually warm up to him. That eventually she would not only accept, but want to marry him, but this was just hopeless thinking.
He brought his mind back to focus on the sound of her voice, a smile playing at the edge of his lips from her comment. And how right she was. She had all the time in the world, and she could take it too. Angel would be happy to wait on her like the gentleman he was and would always be. He saw no wrong in treating a lady with respect. He believed in chivalry, opening car doors, and pulling out chairs on the first date. Most people saw that as being a pussy or wimp, but he saw it as being a man. His father had taught him right and treated his mother the same way Angel treated most girls especially the one on the other side of the wooden door, he stood in front of.
Happy to finally be on the road and to start what would either be a terrific or disastrous night. He was already overwhelmed with that gut wrenching feeling everything would go wrong and pondering what the girl beside him must be thinking. He kept his eyes on the road with the occasional glance out of the corner of his eye. “Yeah I made reservations for this place, it's not too fancy, but it's nice. You'll like it” Least he hoped so anyway, he wasn't sure with Indigo at times. She confused him to say the least, it did nothing, but peek his interest more. She was like a puzzle and he wanted to figure out. It was just how far could he go and how far was too much? He didn't want to invade what little privacy she had left. A sigh of relief leaving his lips as he pulled into the parking lot, he cocked his head to the side and smiled at her. “Want me to open the door for you again, I know how much you love it.” Whether or not she said yes or no, he was going to do it anyways. It was something Indigo was going to have to deal with, if she didn't know by now, Angel was always like this.

ten to twelve i'm not myself,BY THE MILLIONTH TIME I CRYIndigo wasn't about to let her walls down anytime soon, or at least she hadn't planned to. She never did plan something like that to be completely honest. She couldn't do it, she wouldn't let herself. Falling for angel was completely last on her list of things to do... if it was even there at all, and the worst part was not knowing whether it was or not. The girl didn't know. And she didn't want to keep asking herself if she did or not, she just assumed and said that she didn't, every single time. She wouldn't let herself fall for him, she didn't need this, she didn't need a marriage and she didn't need love. Not only did she not need love, but the girl didn't deserve love. She was in no such condition to be nice to someone unconditionally, she couldn't handle it emotionally, and if she was able to, she would have been with someone long ago.
Her moods changed far too fast and honestly, she would rather hurt him good enough to where he would stay away, that way he wouldn't be even more hurt and sad when it happened after she let herself love him. She couldn't do that to someone, it was better for this to go down rather then hurt him worse in the long run. It wasn't like she was a rude person, at least.. not on purpose. She couldn't help the changes the disorder made her go through and what it made her say. When she went through a change it wasn't the Indigo deep down inside, it was a monster. And she hated herself for it, but she would never let anyone know about the monster inside, as long as she could help it. And at this point, she wasn't sure she could. Her defenses against this boy was getting weaker and weaker the nicer he was to her, but she still wasn't about to give up, she couldn't let him fall for her and she couldn't let herself feel so comfortable around him, it would only lead to trouble. In fact, it was already leading to trouble and she hadn't even spent that much time with him. Indy wasn't used to people being nice to her in return to her rudeness, and it threw her off guard every time.
Angel didn't comment after she told him she would take her time and he would wait. She hated that, only because, as long as he fought back, she would have motive not to fall, because she would be too busy bickering with him to concentrate on anything other then fussing with him, but now he was silent, and it left Indy alone with her thoughts, which were now pounding in her head. Finally though, they were in the car, and on the way to this apparent restaurant that he had made reservations for, it was too much, but she would never tell him that. Hell, all she had been expecting was a little trip to the ice cream shoppe, but.. a restaurant that you had to make reservations for? It made her head spin.
Why did he care so much? Why did he want her to love him so much? She would never be able to understand, she decided. It calmed her some to know that it wasn't too fancy, the girl nodded, a little numb from all the information she was receiving, oh.. okay.. good. she said, nodding. A few more minutes and they were there, a sigh leaving his lips that made Indigo smile, unaware. The girl sighed herself when he spoke, with a roll of her eyes she knew the bickering was back, and she couldn't have been more welcoming to it, she needed it. With a slight cock of her head she scoffed, you know what? I do love it, so yes, I want you to do exactly that, what are you waiting for? she said, looking at him as if he should have gotten out of the car ages ago.
It was then that the girl realized that this wasn't the type of bickering she had in mind. This was more like... bonding. It was joking around, and she didn't like it. There was walls around her heart for a reason and she wanted to build walls around his as well, although it seemed as if his heart was already located on his sleeve. She knew it was true, she could see it. He was too sweet to be rude, and if he was rude, it was only because Indigo was making him that way, but it felt better then to be rude for him only to be sweet back. She could handle that, but this..? she could not.

Angel hadn't known the girl for too long, maybe a little over two weeks. He really wasn't counting. He didn't know much about her, he could never get close enough to ask her questions. He could only wonder. That's what he did, he pondered questions in his head and maybe he would find out later. He wondered what made her this way, to push people away so far and was It because of him? It might not have been. It could have started a while ago, the boy had no clue. He just happened to stumble in at a very strange time in her life. He wondered why she put up walls and if it was because she was insecure. He asked himself these questions everyday. He felt nosy for asking so many questions like he was intruding in on her personal life, then again they we're arranged to be married. They had to start telling each other things eventually, and if they did, maybe Angel could help her. He'd find all the right words to say, that no one else could which were possibly all the things she didn't want to hear. Though he would never know if things kept on like they were now. Nothing was ever impossible, Angel would find a way to tell her she was more than worthy of love.
The young Italian was strong, he had to be, but he was also determined. That was just icing on the cake. He was sweet, caring, and loving to top it all off. It was the many parts of him that kept him around. He wasn't completely useless in a situation he couldn't control. It might not have been his choice to marry a complete stranger, but that didn't mean he couldn't do something about it. He spent most of his time trying to make it better. He had been put through a lot in his life. He was use to getting hurt. It was a part of life, Indigo and him weren't the only two that were and had been hurt before. Everyone sometime or another experienced some kind of pain whether it was preventable or not. Angel understood that and he could take the pain, and Indigo was worth all the pain she put him through. If he could get closer, if he was getting closer then he was doing something right. He wanted to give the girl the thought that she had nothing to be afraid of. That when everyone left, he would still be there. It wasn't in him to hold grudges, he never could. It wasn't in him to be rude or mean even if he was capable. He didn't see any use of feeding the fire, it didn't nothing to solve most of his problems in the long wrong, and that's why he didn't fire back.
The most nerve racking part was the ride there. He was thinking to himself that the date was not going to be as nerve racking at the restaurant than in the car ride. Least when they we're at the restaurant he could always stuff his face with food if something came up. In the car all he could do was turn his head and sit there in the awkward silence, even then the two hadn't said much anyways. It couldn't get anymore awkward could it? Yes, it could all Angel had to do was say something wrong, and Angel was good at that for some reason, he even said something ridiculously stupid when he was trying to prevent it in the first place. It was him being nervous, he was always internally nervous, he worked not to show it which half the time didn't work. He worked to make things go the way he wanted, he liked that fulfilling achievement feeling when he had things under control. Right now he was doing a good job of doing just that. He turned his head, blinking up at her in surprise. It brought a smile to his face, one that he was unable to hide “Well I'm glad cause I didn't plan on stopping” He winked playfully and hopped out of the car, going around to open the door motioning her out with his free hand. He was cautious at first when Indigo got out of the car, but quickly got over his irrational fear before putting his arm around her waist, smiling down at her. Leading her to the door and opening it for her too, his arm still attached to her waist. A rush of cold air hitting his face, another gut wrenching feeling. It was one he was trying to ignore, but it wasn't that easy to shrug off, like it was telling him everything wasn't going to go as plan.

ten to twelve i'm not myself,BY THE MILLIONTH TIME I CRYIndigo was not ready to get married, nor was she wanting to get married any time soon. It wasn't her choice, and it hadn't been since she was at least ten years old. The traditions she didn't understand and the fact that they were still being practiced today drove her crazy, this was 2011, why in the hell were they still picking out random people out of the blue for people to marry? It was unethical, it was pointless and much less, it was dangerous! Who was to say that this boy wasn't an axe murderer or completely crazy? So what if she knew him pretty well by now, that little fact wasn't important in her argument at the moment. The point was that she hadn't known him before this marriage had been set up, and thinking on it now brought up many questions in the girl's head.
If he had been crazy, or a murderer for that matter, would she still have been required to marry him? This whole thing was ridiculous in her opinion. Someone shouldn't be forced to marry another person, it should be out of love, it should be out of devotion and it should be out of desire to be with that person for the rest of your life. None of which, she felt for angel.... yet. Indigo was pretty sure she would never get this whole thing. And she wasn't about to try and get it, she didn't want it, and it was the last thing that she was going to put her time into, no matter how cute he was.. and no matter how nice he was.. he didn't matter...
At least, that was what she was trying to convince herself of, it wasn't working very well. It didn't matter, she had to keep it up, she had to be rude. That's all it really took for the others, her bitchiness was enough to make anyone walk away from her, but so far, he was taking it. No matter what she threw his way he seemed to jump over it, ignore it, anything he could do to discard her comment, leaving the girl in speechless wonder about him, she couldn't figure him out, and she wasn't sure she wanted to, maybe he had a heart of gold.. and maybe she was playing with fire. That's sure as hell what it felt like, because boy was she getting burned.
Not really in the way of words either, more in his actions. It seemed the harder she tried to get him not to like her and be a bitch towards him the more he turned it around on her and became even nicer. Whatever... she could deal with that. If he played hard, so could she. She wasn't giving in easily, and she wasn't going to let her walls down anytime soon to get hurt in return, it didn't matter that he didn't seem like the type to break hearts, when opened up, Indy was easily broken, and even the smallest things could hurt her. She wouldn't allow that. She was going to remain the way she was, and he was going to run away and avoid her, just like all the rest. The only problem was, the others were so much easier to get rid of, it seemed as if Angel knew exactly what to do to push her buttons and he seemed content being with her here, she couldn't stand his nonchalance, it was really starting to take a toll on her.
Indigo sighed and smirked a little, letting her eyes roll at him, mhmm.. right. she said, lifting an eyebrow as he opened her door. She said nothing when his arm slipped around her waist as he brought her toward the door, she really didn't feel the need to, so what... it didn't mean anything right? She didn't know, and she wasn't about to waste her time thinking on it. It wasn't long before they were seated and asked their drink orders before they were left alone again, sitting on either side of each other. Indigo smirked. nice place.. she commented, letting her eyes travel around the place slowly, taking it in.
