“yup. that’s right. I just hope I can wow the judges and do something crazy and unique. i`m actually working on a move now that… well, if I don`t do it right I could probably be seriously hurt. but i`m all for the rush.”

"i was born in philadelphia. born and pretty much raised. when i was about fourteen, you know, just starting high school... i moved to new york. my family's awesome. i have a brother named kaeci. he`s only fourteen but i swear he`s my biggest fan and i`m his. i love him. my mom`s awesome, too. she owns a little spa in new york. she did my hair! i`m sure everybody knows my dad. he`s the one always at my games cheering me on. he`s my manager too. so that`s awesome. we`re a pretty close knit family. so yeah. thats what its like in the rush family."

"yeah. he`s always at every event i go to. he`s my backbone. i need him around."

"well... i wasn`t even walking yet, so i guess crawling?"

-laughter- I MEAN, PROFESSIONALLY!

"i know what you mean. i was... i was in rehab."

WOW. REALLY? WHY WERE YOU IN REHAB? AND WHAT MADE YOU GO?

"that`s... that`s a lot. but uhm... well, i was in rehab because i had a drug problem. i was young... and the girlfriend of a rockstar. i... was stupid. he passed away and after keeping up with the lifestyle for a little after, i came home to my parents and decided that enough was just enough. i needed a change. so i made it. i`ve been clean for two years. and i have no plans to go back to that lifestyle."

Her life had been consumed by skateboarding and everything involving skateboarding. She was skateboarding when she woke up and before she went to sleep. She was perfecting moves and even trying to come up with new ones. She had competitions galore, because everybody wanted to see what the new female skater on the scene, had up her sleeve. She`d been skating since she was five years old. Minus a couple years where she wasn`t skating, it had always been her life. So she won a majority of the competitions. Because she had the drive and determination to do it. And it didn`t hurt to have some talent too. Jaeci Rush skateboarded every day, and just because she`d been going to a few of the tour shows, she wouldn`t stop her regular routine. That would be completely unprofessional of her, and considering her new role in life… she had to be professional about what she did. Because, it`d not only send the wrong message to people who were against her and everything she`d been doing, but it`d probably piss her dad off to a whole new level. He believed in her, so she`d give him a reason to continue to do so.

Jaeci carried her skateboard through the crowd of people surrounding the merch tents. Who the hell knows why she didn`t just get up and go skate when the show was still going on… she should have but she didn`t. So she had to push through crowds of rowdy people to find somewhere that would be clear enough for her. She was stopped a few times to get autographs, something that still surprised the shit out of her every single time it happened. But it put a smile on her face each time she came across a girl who said she looked up to Jaeci or wanted to do what she did. Being as soft spoken as she is, she just thanked people for liking her then kept going on her way. When she finally saw a place to skate up ahead of her, she put her board down and rode it to the clear area. She found herself riding around a bus, so she looked around. Shit. These were where the tour buses were. She felt anxious. Like she`d run into somebody that she knew would probably hate her til the end of time. But she needed to practice because she had an event soon. So, instead of letting the anxiety get to her. She took a deep breath and did a trick to keep her mind off it. When she successfully pulled it off, a big smile came onto her face. A victorious smile. Then she continued to add on tricks and moves to that one. Pretty soon, anything negative was completely out of her mind. Today would be a good day, even if she had to leave for it to stay that way.

She was so into her moves that she hadn`t even noticed her phone ringing. When she finally realized it, she answered it. And it was, of course, her dad. She talked to him, all the while continuing skating. She wasn`t doing many tricks, but she was building up her momentum to do them. She sighed. “Okay, dad. I know. I`ll… I`ll call you back when I get this damn flip.” Of course, he dad had just booked another competition that she really didn`t want to do… but she`d do it. She put her phone away and began working on the trick she`d busted her ass with in the last event. She knew she needed to get it…. so she tried… and failed. And tried. And fucking failed. Jaeci took a deep breath and skated a ways away before turning and skating back to gain more momentum. Just as she was about to pull the trick she glanced up and saw someone right in her way. “HEY! WATCH OUT!” somehow, in trying to stop her board that had been going extremely fast, Jaeci ended up on her ass right in front of the person. She`d stopped the board just in time but busted her ass. “Fuck…” she slowly got up and dusted off her butt before looking at the almost victim. “I didn`t hit you… you`re good, right?” Her eyes widened slightly at seeing a familiar face. "Oh..." she said softly.
