kieran is almost too shy to function. he rarely speaks to anyone that he doesn't trust wholeheartedly, if at all. in fact, he not only doesn't like conversation with strangers, but he's painfully bad at it, too. small talk is not his forte by any means, though he's surprisingly fine when talking to his good friends and his family. in fact, if he really loves someone, he will give them everything, almost as if he's sapping his ability to function around strangers and pouring it into his adoration and admiration for those he thinks he couldn't live without. he loves caramel and ice cream and if the two are combined together, he could die happy. his favourite thing to do is to read. in fact, he would prefer being locked alone in a library for twenty-four hours rather than having to sustain a conversation with anyone for five minutes. he just wouldn't be able to do it. while kieran might not have made his own enemies, he'll certainly have people that will hate him simply because he's gay and shy. he was always the kid in school who was bullied just because he was who he was. which was among the many reasons that compelled him to drop out. he probably won't have many friends, but that's just for lack of trying. it's not that he isn't a good person to be around once someone captures his trust, it's just that he rarely sticks around long enough for anyone to capture it in the first place. and finally, anyone willing to be any form of a lover to him would have to adore children, like his daughter mina. mina is the reminder of his only straight relationship ever and that ended with his girlfriend dying. he's a kinsey-six gay man, so no more vags for him.

emilee is a huge perfectionist in that she needs everything to go exactly how she wants it to go and for everything to be in the place that she wants it to be. she has a bit of a god complex as she loves to control the things around her and she feels like she needs to know exactly what's going on at all times. in addition to this, emilee can be a bit paranoid sometimes; she thinks everything whispering must be whispering about her. because of all of these odd quirks and habits, emilee can be a hard lady to deal with. in fact, she's downright difficult. but one thing she's learned is that she can't sweat over the fact that people might not like her. she can just as easily avoid that person if she has to, but obviously she's bound to have made some enemies out of the people that she can't avoid or who won't avoid her. emilee can be pretty nasty with her words though, so those enemies had better watch out. even around her friends, emilee has a hard time being relaxed and calm because, since everyone's different, not everything always goes her way. but she loves her friends to death and anyone who'll stick around her for long enough to be her friend would be one of the best people ever in her eyes. but the absolute best person would be a boyfriend, if she could ever get one. she's a virgin, so no past hookups, but crushes, ex-boyfriends and all that non-sexual stuff would be the way to go with lovers.

josie, josie, josie. between her and her brother, she's definitely the firecracker there. she's got all this unpredictable energy that's bottled up inside of her and she's damn happy the way she is. she's very impulsive, very headstrong. it's not below her to get this crazy idea into her head and then to take off with it. sometimes, she even forgets that her ideas are completely spur of the moment and starts to believe that she's been thinking up these plans for months. and of course, that is just the manic stage of her bipolar disorder and (fortunately or unfortunately) that is the only one that kingsford has had time to witness. when josie gets depressed she is virtually unreachable. she doesn't eat and she sleeps all the time. the idea of getting up and doing chores is literally a worse idea than death to her. this could all be manageable by medications, however, josie is convinced that her medications change her personality so drastically, she believes herself to not be josie wilde anymore. she refuses to take them. josie will probably have a collection of friends who will need to talk her out of her more ridiculous stunts. she'd love her friends, though she'd probably be less than pleased with them after one of her crazy adventures was interrupted. she'd still adore her friends in the bigger picture, though. josie loves the fact that she shares a last name with oscar wilde and she also loves kittens, sunshine and valentine's day. in her mind, there's nothing more romantic than roses and chocolates. she's a very loving person in general, and the lovers would certainly be adored as much as anything. she's not a virgin and quite possibly will have already had a few flings just in the short time she's been here. since she's staying here for awhile, as far as she can tell, long term relationships are very realistic. as for enemies, josie will certainly have gotten into a few barfights, fistfights, bitchfights, etc. she's not the kind of person to consider the pros and cons of starting these fights, either and her impulsive behavior will have absolutely gotten her into quite a few undesirable situations that will have left her with a number of enemies.

alec figures that if a picture's worth a thousand words and since he loves photography so much, there's not much point in speaking, is there? and he lives by that philosophy, choosing instead to look at life through a camera lens rather than live it to the fullest. it's not that he avoids life, but he does sit out of it as often as possible. it's not that he's shy so much as just really out of touch with people. he's awkward as hell, but he sees no problem with this, as he'd prefer not to talk to anyone much anyway. he loves silence and he loves big, empty spaces--particularly the sky. he's rarely rude to anybody and is more likely to burst into tears than defend himself. however, he is very friendly, so he'll have a few close friends. he'd enjoy their company and maybe even have a couple of them that he genuinely likes to be around, but other than that, he's pretty much a lone wolf. as for enemies, since he'd not looking for a fight and he can actually be pretty sweet once people get to know him, i don't think he'd have too many people that he hates/hate him. oh, and he's also got some kind of somethin'-somethin' going on with ryland, so the lovers can look (i.e. have a crush on him, have dated him in the past, etc.) but they can't touch (because he's as faithful as a sheepdog and a virgin anyway).
